3. Caving –- if there are caves safe to visit during the monsoon period, then go underground and see rock formations, cave animals, and subsurface rivers.

4. Go out -– go to the beach and enjoy the strong yet harmless splashes of the waves or visit a waterfall and appreciatively watch the surge of current falling over. You can go skim boarding or sea surfing -- the rain and the wind will make these activities more exciting.

5. Take cover – hit the theatres or museums. You will be safe and dry inside these structures. Do indoor sightseeing, while the rain is busy wetting streets and rooftops.

6. Relax –- savour the warmth of your hotel room. Wrap yourself in a blanket and sip aromatic coffee as you write a journal, read a traveller's guide, plan a tour, contact loved ones at home, or watch a foreign flick.

Do not let the rain scare you or prevent you from enjoying your trip. Maybe, it is an enemy to those in urban locations, but it is friend to those in rural areas where farms and wildlife abound. Rain is life -- it makes Mother Nature come alive. If you are visiting tourist destinations with jungles and safaris, you would appreciate them more if it rains. Just be sure to bring with you water-proof apparel like jackets and ponchos, so you can visit eco-ranches and woodlands as they come in full swing on a cool, rainy day.
